Shahmirzād ( Persian شهميرزاد) is a small mountain town with a mild climate 240 km northeast of Tehran in the Semnan Province , Iran . Their population fluctuates (depending on the season) between 5000 and 10,000 and was calculated for 2012 as 7765.
The small town is known for its walnut tree gardens and is surrounded by tall trees. Above the town you can find the remains of a castle ruin ( Shir Ghal'eh - "lion fortress").
The city produces its own mineral water under the name Tenāb Shahmirzād ( āb means "water").
