Krypton factor

Krypton Faktor was the title of a television show on the German private broadcaster Sat.1 , which was moderated by Jörg Draeger . The show was broadcast in 1991 and comprised 13 episodes.

Four candidates each faced the most demanding tasks in the categories “flexible thinking”, “reaction”, “perception”, “intelligence”, “fitness”, “logic”, “coordination” and “general knowledge”.

The highlight of the program was an obstacle course, which had to be completed in a disused ironworks , the current Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park , in the Obermeiderich district of Duisburg . The candidates also had to land in a flight simulator .

In the last episode of the program there was the grand finale, in which one candidate won the maximum prize of 100,000 DM .

The German version was unable to build on the success of the English original, which had already been broadcast years before in Great Britain under the title Krypton Factor , and was discontinued after only 13 episodes. The title melody and the accompanying theme were composed by Klaus-Peter Sattler .
