Schaqsylyq Muqaschuly Omar ( Kazakh Жақсылық Мұқашұлы Омар , Russian Жаксылык Мукашулы Омар / Schaksylyk Mukaschuly Omar ; born September 28, 1980 in Üscharal , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh .
Life
Schaqsylyq Omar was born in Üscharal in what is now the Almaty region in 1980 . He graduated from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University in Almaty with a degree in geography in 2001 . In 2010 a second degree was added to the Kazakh University for Humanitarian and Legal Innovation in Zemei . In 2018 he obtained a Master of Economics from the State Technical University of East Kazakhstan.
He began his professional career after graduating from university in 2001. He initially held various positions in the Ministry of Culture, Information and Public Order before moving to the Kazakh Ministry of Finance in 2005. After two years he started to work as a department head for the state television and radio company Qazaqstan and from June to October 2009 he was the general manager of the state media holding Arna Media. He then went into regional politics and became assistant to the Äkim (governor) of the East Kazakhstan region . Between 2010 and 2013 he worked in various positions in the regional administration of East Kazakhstan, including as head of the cultural department. Subsequently, he was Deputy Äkim of East Kazakhstan and between November 2016 and August 2018, Deputy Äkim of the Almaty Region . Since August 20, 2018 he has been Äkim (Mayor) of the city of Öskemen .
