Scharnhorst traditional badge

The Scharnhorst traditional badge was a badge of the National Socialist German Workers' Party for former members of the Scharnhorst Association of German Young Men . It also counts as the other decorations of the Nazi Party in the Federal Republic of Germany as a constitutional hostile propaganda . It is prohibited to make, wear or distribute them in public.

history

The Scharnhorst-Bund deutscher Jungmannen , named after the Prussian army reformer Gerhard von Scharnhorst (1755-1813), was a militaristic youth organization during the Weimar Republic that existed until Hitler came to power in 1933. After that all "young men" were accepted into the Hitler Youth . Young men were still allowed to wear their uniforms. The former members of the Scharnhorst Association were allowed to wear the traditional badge of the Association of German Young Men on their military clothing.

description

The badge has the shape of a shield with the tip pointing downwards, is framed in gold and shows a black bar cross and a crown in the middle.

A second form of this badge, also known as the civil badge , is held in silver. This applies to both the framing and the design of the crown, which sits in the middle of the cross.

The reverse of both badges shows a vertically soldered brooch pin.
