Treasure Islands

Treasure Island (original title Treasure Islands: Uncovering the Damage of Offshore Banking and Tax Havens ) is a book of political analysts and member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs Nicholas Shaxson about the secret role of offshore financial centers and tax havens in the global economy. The book was published on January 6, 2011 with the support of the international non-governmental organization Tax Justice Network .

The Irish Times call Treasure Islands (original title) an excellent book that shows the disastrous effects of multinational corporations' tax avoidance on global politics and human well-being. The Guardian called it "probably the most important book published in the UK to date this year". A summary of the mostly positive reviews can be found on the Treasure Islands website.

filming

A documentary thriller based on the book called "Cashback" was supposed to be released in 2012, but was canceled in early 2011. The directors were the two British brothers and filmmakers Marc and Nick Francis, who were already responsible for the film adaptation of the award-winning film Black Gold .
