Scheele is a small, bowl-shaped impact crater on the front of the moon in the plain of Oceanus Procellarum south of the Wichmann crater and northwest of Herigonius .
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 after the German-Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele .
