Schelling Prize

The Schelling Prize is an award from the Bavarian Academy of Sciences (BAdW), which is named after the philosopher and Academy President Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling (1775-1854).

With the award, which was awarded for the first time in 2006, the BAdW honors top researchers for outstanding achievements or their life's work. It is awarded every two years, alternating between the humanities and the natural sciences , and is endowed with 25,000 euros. The academy praises the general topic to be awarded in the respective call for applications. The award is sponsored by E.ON Bayern.

Members of the BAdW are excluded from the award of the prize.
