Shemokmedi ( Georgian შემოქმედი ) is a village in Georgia , in the Guria region , in the municipality of Osurgeti .
Shemokmedi is located on the bank of the Bshushi River ( Georgian ბჟუჟი ), 7 kilometers east of Osurgeti . In 2014 the village had 1,322 inhabitants.
In Shemokmedi there is the Shemokmedi monastery , which is the center of the Schemokmedi diocese . In the village there is also the medieval Gorisperdi Church .
