Schenkenberg Chapel
The Schenkenberg Chapel or Schenkenberger Chapel "Maria Sacrifice" is a pilgrimage chapel near Emmingen-Liptingen in the Tuttlingen district .
history
In the place of today's chapel from 1720 there was already a small church around 1275. The place Schenkenberg was destroyed in the 15th century and not rebuilt. Only the Schenkenberger Hof and the chapel are reminiscent of this, it is only a few meters away from the abandoned Schenkenberg Castle , which was once the seat of the Lords of Schenkenberg .
Pilgrimage
The pilgrimage goes back to the year 1688, a little later the first of 150 votive tablets were made in honor of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Schenkenberg . In the vicinity of the pilgrimage church there is a way of the cross that was newly built in 2001.
Next to the chapel is the Schenkenberger Hof restaurant, which the former Daimler-Chrysler board member Klaus Mangold acquired in 2013 and runs with his family.
