Leander Petzoldt

Leander Petzoldt (born August 28, 1934 in Rennerod ) is a German folklorist and narrative researcher .

Career

Petzoldt first studied German , English , geography and folklore at the universities of Frankfurt am Main , Berlin (FU) and Mainz . In 1964 he did his doctorate with Lutz Röhrich with the work Der Tote als Gast. Folk tale and example . From 1963 to 1975 he was a research assistant at the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz , and from 1967 to 1973 research assistant at the Department of Folklore at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . He then became professor of literature and folklore at the Weingarten University of Education . In 1974 he completed his habilitation at the University of Giessen . From 1985 he taught as a full professor at the Institute for European Ethnology / Folklore at the University of Innsbruck , and has been emeritus since 2002 .
