Laminated sheet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Laminated sheets are used to bridge variable gaps. These result from the dimensionally cumulative individual tolerances as a chain of tolerances of components mounted one behind the other, which in turn are installed in a housing, for example.

A common brand name for laminated sheet metal is Laminum .

Laminated sheet metal consists of many thin foils made of metal or plastics that are laminated to one another over the entire surface . By peeling off by hand, the total thickness can be reduced to a hundredth of a millimeter layer by layer. During assembly work, the time-consuming and cost-intensive production of fitting pieces or spacer disks or the pairing of fitting disks can be dispensed with. The main application is, for example, the construction of gears or setting the clearance of work spindles of machine tools.

The materials used include steel , aluminum , brass and plastics .
