Bankruptcy and accounting scandal 2007

After handing over management to Samir Jajjawi and Franz-Josef Golüke in October 2004 , the company's founder, Rolf Demuth , took over management again in December 2006. The holding filed for bankruptcy on April 12, 2007, but withdrew the precautionary application after a few days.

Following a resolution by the shareholders' meeting in early May 2007, the Schieder Group was led by a five-person management. Ulrich Wlecke was renamed as managing director, who should focus on restructuring the group. At the same time, he was Managing Director of the Alix Partners group, which supported the Schieder Group in realigning it.

At the beginning of June 2007 it became known that the renovators had encountered significant balance sheet manipulations in the past, which led to the arrest of four former managers, including the former owner Rolf Demuth . On June 15, 2007, the company again filed for bankruptcy. Talks with the banks about further financing had previously failed.

In 2010, the public prosecutor's office brought charges against the four accused at the Detmold regional court for total damage of at least 234 million euros. In April 2011, the company's founder Rolf Demuth and the company's former CFO were sentenced to imprisonment and the other two defendants were sentenced to suspended sentences.
