Ship's papers

Ship papers are the documents that must be carried on ships at all times with information about the ship itself, the ship's command , the ship's crew and the cargo .

The documents about the ship include, among other things, the driving license, the ship class test , the international ship 's measurement certificate , safety certificates for construction and equipment, certificates for radio communication equipment, ship certificates or flag certificates as well as the freeboard certificate (formerly also the attachment letter ). Documents belonging to the ship's command and crew are the ship's log to be kept , the crew list, the sample roll and health certificates . The cargo is documented by bills of lading , manifest and other accompanying documents.
