Ship launch in Konabbe Skov

The ship setting in Konabbe Skov (also Konappe Skov) is in the forest between Lindelse and Humble not far from Kaagård in the village of Hennetved on the Danish island of Langeland . In the Konabbe forest to the southwest of the farm, a forest path leads to the southwest and later to the south. The ship was set near the edge of the forest at Ellensbjerg hill, about 100 meters east of the forest path.

The north-west-south-east oriented ship setting ( Danish skibssætning ) of Konabbe consists of small stones that protrude only slightly from the forest floor. It is about 13 meters long and five meters wide. In front of the south end there was a (straightened up) larger, fallen stone - probably the Stevenstein - which is often larger than the rest. At one of the stones near the south end a semicircle is carved out, an indication that the attempt to split the stone has been given up.

Ship settlements usually contain cremation graves from the late Iron or Viking Age . No excavations have been carried out here.
