Schild-Hefte - Komaden im Kampf was a war booklet novel series by Schild-Verlag .

series

In the years 1953 to 1954 , 16 booklets were published in this booklet romance series , each with a length of 32 pages. In contrast to Landser , Fliegergeschichten or SOS , simple soldiers were the focus of the novels. According to the publisher's advertising, the novels heralded "the deeds that German soldiers performed on all fronts for their fatherland."

The design of the Schild books resembles the war library of the German youth produced in the Nazi state .

While in later series such as SOS and Fliegergeschichten the navy and air force were glorified as places of chivalry and, according to editorial estimates, negative war literature appeared in Landser , the Schild-Verlag was still following old ideas. It went so far that in the text of volume three, a novel about a German Foreign Legionnaire, even with almost the same sentences ("... German boy, always protect yourself from such a merciless fate. ...") as before the First World War before the Foreign Legion warned and fought against Bolshevik sabotage troops in another volume in Estonia .
