The shield Lallemantie ( Lallemantia peltata ) is a species of the genus Lallemantia in the mint family (Lamiaceae).
description
The Schild-Lallemantie is an annual plant that reaches heights of between 15 and 40 centimeters. The bracts are circular, ciliate and serrated. The crown is violet blue to light blue and 14 to 18 millimeters long (rarely from 10 millimeters). The corolla tube is about as long as the chalice.
The flowering period extends from July to August.
distribution
The species occurs in the Caucasus, Turkey, Iraq and Iran on fallow fields and on roadsides at altitudes of 1250 to 2500 meters.
use
The shield lallemantie is rarely used as an ornamental plant for summer flower beds.
