Shinshar ( Arabic شنشار, DMG Šinšār ) is a place in the Homs Governorate in Syria .
Shinshar is located at kilometer 10 on the road from Homs to al-Qutayfa (القطيفة) in the south before the junction to al-Qusayr . Its residents are predominantly Sunnis .
