The Battle of Rusokastro (also Battle of Rusokastron , Bulgarian Битка при Русокастро ) was a clash on July 18, 1332 in the village of Rusokastro near Burgas in southeastern Bulgaria between the Byzantine Empire and the Bulgarian Empire . The battle ended in a clear Bulgarian victory. It was the last major battle between the Bulgarian and Byzantine Empires before the fall of the latter.
The battle is re-enacted by volunteers on June 18 each year.
