Grinding basket stretcher
A grinding basket stretcher (in Austria also basket stretcher or rescue tub ) is used for the safe and patient-friendly rescue of people by the fire brigade , technical relief organization and rescue service from rough terrain, narrow or inaccessible buildings.
The patient can be placed in the stretcher and is then strapped in place. The margin this form provides the stretcher many eyelets for holding belts, safety ropes and handles for carrying. In some cases, footrests are also provided to secure the patient against slipping out. The grinding basket stretcher can be used to negotiate embankments , for example . This is difficult to do with a normal stretcher. The grinding basket stretcher, on the other hand, can be carried and secured by several people. This supports a patient-friendly rescue .
In German-speaking Switzerland, the sanding basket stretcher is often referred to as a rescue tub.
This form of stretcher is often used in mountain , cave and height rescue .
