A grinding basket stretcher (in Austria also basket stretcher or rescue tub ) is used for the safe and patient-friendly rescue of people by the fire brigade , technical relief organization and rescue service from rough terrain, narrow or inaccessible buildings.

The patient can be placed in the stretcher and is then strapped in place. The margin this form provides the stretcher many eyelets for holding belts, safety ropes and handles for carrying. In some cases, footrests are also provided to secure the patient against slipping out. The grinding basket stretcher can be used to negotiate embankments , for example .
