The Schloppsee (Sloppersee) is a lake on the island of Langeoog , Wittmund district , Lower Saxony .
description
The up to 12 meters deep brackish waters with dimensions of 150 x 200 meters is located east of the island village, west of the Great Schlopp area mentioned (Groote Sloop), one from a dune breakthrough in the Christmas flood in 1717 resulting landscape structure. It was formed in 1971 through the removal of sand for coastal protection. Fish species found in the lake include plaice and eel .
