Eisersdorf Castle

Eisersdorf Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Żelaźnie ) is located near Eisersdorf near Glatz ( Kłodzko ), Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

history

In the place of today's castle there used to be a manor house that was burned down during the Thirty Years War . Today's castle was built in the Baroque style for Johann Karl Pelcke in 1797–1798 . In 1799 Franz Arbogast Hoffmann bought the property. From 1808 the castle belonged to Colonel Albert von Biberstein, who had married von Hoffmann's widow. In May 1836 Hermann Dietrich Lindheim took over the castle.

In 1860, the sons of the late Lindheim sold the castle to his brother-in-law Hugo von Löbbecke , who also took over the factories in Rengersdorf (today's Krosnowice ) and Ullersdorf .

In the years 1869–1871 it was rebuilt in the late Renaissance style on the initiative of Hugo von Löbbecke according to plans by master builder Schmidt from Breslau and expanded in 1883 and 1905. The garden facade was provided with a representative portico with four columns and a 36 m high tower was built.

After almost all of Silesia fell to the People's Republic of Poland as a result of the Second World War in 1945 , a depot for stolen art was housed in the castle. From 1952 it served as a holiday home for the employees of the Bobreker steel works. Between 1970 and 1978 the building was renovated. In 1997 the castle was listed as a historical monument. From January 1994 to December 2012, the plant was owned by Centrala Zaopatrzenia Hutnictwa SA . in Katowice and was used as a holiday home.

There is currently a hotel in the castle. The Pałac Żelazno Foundation was established to renovate the castle .
