Falkenhaube Castle

history

The castle was built during the reign of Margrave Georg Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Bayreuth between 1719 and 1722 and was used for the so-called heron picking with hunting birds. The castle was never designed for long stays and was therefore built relatively simply. The exterior of the building has a chinoise shape and a distant resemblance to a hawk hood. Little is known about the further history of the building. It was probably used later for gastronomic purposes.
