The Hardenberg Castle , also front building called, is the private residence of the Count von Hardenberg in Norten-Hardenberg in Northeim . The baroque estate is located at the western foot of the castle hill, about 600 m northwest of the Hardenberg castle ruins .

The manor house was built between 1701 and 1710; the builder was Georg Sigismund Schmidt from Hanover. The access road that leads to the manor is flanked by two elongated farm buildings from the mid-18th century. At the instigation of Christiane von Reventlow, the wife of Karl August von Hardenberg , an almost 100 acre manor park was created at the end of the 18th century. The castle was occupied around 1710, when the nearby Hardenberg Castle had to be given up as a residence due to disrepair. In contrast to the rest of the Hardenberg, the castle is not used for tourism.

The Hardenberg covers the entire country estate of the count. There is a riding arena where the international horse shows for the "Golden Whip " are held every year, and the Hardenberg-Wilthen grain distillery .

Hardenberg also has several restaurants, a shop, four hotels and a golf resort .
