Lassereck Castle today

The Lasse Reck Castle ( "Lasser Schlössl") is located in the town of Unterach in District Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria (Klostergasse 2).

history

Around 1555 Wolfgang Lasser (Lassa), ancestor of the Salzburg Lasser von Lasseregg (Lassereck), had a farm built in Unterach. This was managed by the tenants Georg Stauffer (1596), Blasius Dalionoso (1622) and Adam Dichter (1627). In 1628 Friedrich Lasser zu Lassereck had the courtyard converted into a palace ("Schloss Unt (e) rach"). This remained in the possession of the von Lassereck family until 1638. The sons Ferdinand and Friderico of Matthäus Lasser (owners of the castle until 1630) seem to have been the last descendants of the Upper Austrian branch of this noble family.

1638 (according to other information not until 1667 and with a Count Balthasar von Starhemberg as intermediate owner around 1659) Count Franz Christoff Khevenhüller bought the castle and united it with the rule of Kogl . Towards the end of the 17th century, the castle became a brewery. When the Innviertel came to the Kingdom of Bavaria at short notice in 1810 , Counts Anton and Josef Khevenhüller sold their Upper Austrian possessions to Andreas Pausinger . From this Unterach came to Baron Mayr von Melnhof in 1861 .

Lassereck Castle today

The castle was redesigned in 1900 and converted into a residential building. The castle, which is in dire need of renovation, is still privately owned today.
