Castle in Bukovec

The Bukovec Castle (German Mogolzen ) is located in Bukovec in the Czech Republic .

history

The castle was built as a fortress for the brothers Dobrohost and Mutina von Bukowetz and was completed in 1177. The castle was owned by several Czech families such as the Lords of Welhartitz or the Princes of Lobkowitz . In 1771 it was rebuilt in the baroque style. The castle is protected as a cultural monument and is owned by the von Pola family . It is not open to the public.
