Rausdorf Castle

The Rausdorf Castle stands in the town Rausdorf in Saale-Holzland in Thuringia .

history

The castle developed from the Vorwerk Großbockedra , documented as early as 1378 , which was managed by several owners over the years. Before the Second World War it belonged to the Morgenstern family. She already used it economically as an object of relaxation and summer stays for guests from near and far.

From 1940

The Morgenstern family sold the property to the State of Berlin in 1940 . After 1945 it was handed over to the administration of the council of the district Stadtroda by the GDR . It was first used as an orphanage and later as a special children's home.

After the turn

The castle was used as a children's home until 1997 . Since it was still owned by the State of Berlin, the property could not be sold for a long time. Unrealistic prices were the obstacle to a real sale, which has now probably taken place, because you wish guests a "warm welcome" to Rausdorf Castle.
