Reinleiten Castle in Grieskirchen

The Schloss Reinharz directing is located in the town of Grieskirchen of Upper Austria .

history

Before this noble residence was built, there was a farm here; In 1592 a Röringer is named as the owner in the Leiten . The noble seat was built by the Pollheimers von Parz . In 1651 Count Adrian Ankevoirt sold the castle to Count David von Weißenwolff. In 1720 the castle was raised to a noble residence .

The two-story castle used to have a steep gable roof and a tower protruding from the wall structure with a hexagonal pyramid as a roof. The castle was accessed through this tower. The attic of the building was lit by ox eyes .

Reinleiten Castle today

During the reign of Emperor Franz Josef I , the castle was converted into a hospital in 1912. The hospital is supported by the Order of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross and the Franciscan Sisters of Vöcklabruck . Today the former castle is used as a farm building.
