Rogau Castle ( Polish Pałac w Rogach ) was a castle in Rogi (German Rogau ) in the urban and rural municipality Niemodlin ( Falkenberg OS ) in the Powiat Opolski ( Opole District ) in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. Historically, Rogau belonged to the Duchy of Falkenberg .

history

The palace was built in late classicism for Minister of State Christian Rother according to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel around 1836. In 1860 the family of the Counts of Prashma bought the property. In 1897 the castle was expanded and rebuilt. After the Praschma family gave up the castle in the 1930s, it was temporarily used as an orphanage, a children's health institution and as a labor camp. After the Second World War, a primary school was set up in the castle and it still exists today. The castle is located in a landscaped park with numerous old trees, mainly English oaks.
