The Castle tube is in the area of the municipality of Ragnitz in the district of Leibnitz in Styria .

In the 12th century the castle was a moated castle . In 1630 it was acquired by Rein Abbey and served the abbot as a resort. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle was expanded and the state that is handed down today was largely restored. In 1953, Rein Abbey had to sell the castle. It has been privately owned since then.

The castle is in very poor condition and some parts are in danger of collapsing. The association "Denkmal Steiermark" tries to preserve the castle.
