Thaumiers Castle
The Thaumiers Castle stands in the town of Thaumiers in the French department of Cher .
The castle was originally built in the 15th century at a place called "La Forêt-Thaumiers". Three centuries later it was rebuilt and is now surrounded by old moats in an extensive English landscape garden with a small lake. Part of the structure and the south tower have not survived. As a result, the two remaining wings, which meet at right angles, open up to the large courtyard surrounded by hedges and lawns .
The current owner of the property is Château Accueil . She runs a hotel in the castle.
Thaumiers Castle has been registered as a Monument historique since December 1979 .
