Siegfried Böhringer (born October 26, 1940 ) is a former German soccer player. As a player at VfB Stuttgart , he played a total of 16 league games in the Bundesliga between 1963 and 1967 and scored one goal.

career

In his youth he played for the Stuttgarter SC , where he was also active in the first men's team. In the summer of 1962 he moved to VfB Stuttgart , initially in the amateur team. After winning the title in the 1st Amateur League North Württemberg in 1962/63 in front of the competition from Ludwigsburg and Kornwestheim, Böhringer and his teammates won the German Amateur Championship on July 6, 1963 in Kassel in the final against VfL Wolfsburg . As an amateur, Böhringer made his debut on September 21, 1963 in a 2: 4 away defeat at Preußen Münster in the Bundesliga. He ran in the then practiced World Cup system under coach Kurt Baluses on half right on the side of Rolf Geiger , Hans Arnold and Dieter Höller . For the 1964/65 season he joined the club's licensed team , as did Hans Krauss , Gustav Talpai and Hartmut Weiß from the amateur team. In addition, Helmut Huttary , Werner Pfeifer and Helmut Siebert came to VfB.

By 1967 he played a total of 16 Bundesliga games for the Swabians, with one goal. When he played for Eintracht Frankfurt on September 24, 1966 (0: 4) under coach Rudi Gutendorf , he ended the Bundesliga chapter alongside other players such as Eberhard Pfisterer , Günter Seibold , Gilbert Gress , Bo Larsson , Hans-Otto Peters and Horst Köppel . Then he moved to local rivals Stuttgarter Kickers in the second-rate Regionalliga Süd . After a year in the amateur team of Kickers, Böhringer made his debut under coach Georg Wurzer on August 18, 1968 in a 1-1 away draw against Schwaben Augsburg in the Regionalliga Süd. Together with Rolf Steeb and Erich Schmeil, he formed the runner row. He met Karlsruher SC three times with the Kickers this season: first in the South German Cup (2-1) and then twice in the league. In Karlsruhe (December 14, 1968) the host prevailed 2-0 in a high-class game in front of 32,000 spectators in the Wildpark Stadium, in the home game (March 22, 1969) the Kickers retaliated with a 2-1 in front of 12,600 spectators. The Wurzer-Elf narrowly missed the entry into the Bundesliga promotion round. One point behind champions Karlsruher SC and the tied runner-up Freiburg FC (both 43:25), the Kickers finished fourth with 42:26 points, tied with Bayern Hof as third in the table. Böhringer had played in 33 league games and scored a goal as a defender at the side of teammates such as Helmut Fürther , Dieter Schurr , Steeb, Erich Weixler , Karl-Heinz Mrosko , Jürgen Schieck and Rainer Eisenhardt . In the following three rounds, Böhringer and colleagues could not repeat this level, the table went down. When Ludwig Bründl won the top scorer's crown with 21 goals in the 1970/71 season, Böhringer scored a remarkable eleven goals.

After 109 regional league games and 19 goals, he returned to his hometown club Stuttgarter SC for one season in 1972 before ending his career.
