Rolf Steeb (born September 2, 1939 ) is a former German soccer player . The defender played 253 league games with the Stuttgarter Kickers from 1963 to 1971 in the second -rate regional soccer league south and scored 24 goals.

Career

In 1949, Rolf Steeb came to the Stuttgarter Kickers as a teenager, where he went through all the youth departments of the “Blauen”. On May 10, 1959, the defender played his first game in the contract team of the Kickers in the 0-2 defeat against the "lilies" of SV Darmstadt 98 . This game was followed by 350 more games in the blue jersey until he moved to the amateur division at VfL Sindelfingen in 1971 . The three most successful years experienced the middle runner in the old World Cup system and then to the "last man" behind the Vorstopper in the following 4: 3: 3 changed defensive boss of the team from the Degerloch, under the former VfB master coach Georg Wurzer in the three Seasons 1966/67 to 1968/69. Three times in a row the Kickers landed in fourth place with the defensive conductor Steeb in the southern league.

In 1968/69 the Kickers narrowly missed the hoped-for entry into the Bundesliga promotion round. Karlsruher SC and Freiburg FC landed on the first two places with 43:25 points each; Bayern Hof and the Stuttgarter Kickers took third and fourth place with one point less. Steeb and Vorstopper Siegfried Böhringer formed the central defensive bulwark. The two away defeats in April 1969 against Opel Rüsselsheim (1: 2) and Hessen Kassel (0: 2), the three minus points against the Mannheim relegated VfL Neckarau and the total of 12 draw games in the season prevented the possible entry into the promotion round to football -Bundesliga. Steeb was a constant player on the defensive of the Kickers for eight years in the Regionalliga Süd.

After six years in Sindelfingen, Steeb finally ended his footballing career in 1977.
