Vahnerow Castle

Vahnerow Castle is a castle in the Polish village of Waniorowo in Gmina Gryfice in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . Historically, the place belonged to the Greifenberg district in Western Pomerania .

history

Vahnerow belonged since the 13th or 14th century to the goods association of the von Lode, fiefdom of the diocese of Cammin . From 1370 onwards, the von Mellin after -fiefs were those of Eberstein-Naugard . The main place of the property was Trieglaff Castle , the defense center was a rampart in the lowlands of the Batzbach between Vahnerow and Batzwitz . When the inheritance was divided, Vahnerow came to Henriette, married to Heinrich von Oertzen von Kotelow, who died in the Battle of Leipzig in 1813 . From 1819 Vahnerow was also managed by Adolph Ferdinand von Thadden-Trieglaff. From 1854 Vahnerow went to Gerhard von Thadden as part of the property . After 1910, the Vahnerow estate was reunited with Trieglaff.

Building

The present castle was built in 1858 under Gerhard von Thadden in the Italian villa style.
