Volkrange Castle
The castle in Volkrange , a district of Thionville in the Moselle department in the historic Lorraine region , was originally built in the 13th century and significantly changed in the 18th century. The castle was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1984 as a Monument historique .
The palace complex with a 30 hectare park consists of the main building with round corner towers, outbuildings of the former farm and a pigeon tower .
Today the castle is used as tourist family accommodation ( Village Tourisme Famille ) and is maintained by the Association du château de Volkrange .
