Gröba Castle Bridge

The Schlossbrücke Gröba is a bicycle and pedestrian bridge in the Riesa district of Gröba . It is located above the entrance to the Riesa harbor and in the immediate vicinity of the Gröba Castle .

Previous construction

In 1945 the castle bridge was blown up by Wehrmacht soldiers.

New building

On June 3, 2011, the castle bridge between the northern and southern parts of Gröba was reopened. It connects the Riesa city center with Strehla and completes the Elbe Cycle Path (D10) in the Riesa city area.
A civic association tried to rebuild the castle bridge and the new building has been financed by private donations since 2004.
