Gorge on Mariaberg near Thingers
The gorge on Mariaberg near Thingers is a geotope in the natural area of the Iller foothills in the city of Kempten (Allgäu) . The property opens up in an easterly direction along a stream and has walls around 100 meters high and around 600 meters long. Upper freshwater molasses can be seen repeatedly on these high walls .
In 2008 the Bavarian State Office for the Environment designated the gorge as a locally significant geotope (geotope no. 763R002).
