The Schmidt Group is a German group of companies that operates casinos with slot machines . The group's headquarters are in Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Companies

With an annual turnover of around 290 million euros and more than 2,700 employees, the company operates around 180 amusement arcades . After the industry leaders Gauselmann and Löwen-Play , the Schmidt Group is the third largest operator of amusement arcades in Germany.

According to Ulrich and Arne Schmidt, it is in the interests of the company to protect players against gambling addiction , and gambling addicts drive away the other guests. In 2007, the group introduced a prevention concept for gambling addicts and trained the service staff to speak to suspected gambling addicts. In 2011 there were around one hundred mediation talks.

history

The senior partner is Ulrich Schmidt, who was part of the Gauselmann Group. In the mid-eighties he went into business for himself. The managing director is now his son Arne Schmidt.

In 2007, the Schmidt Group took over the Berlin machine manufacturer Bally Wulff . Bally Wulff employs around 220 people and generates 50 million euros.

The fitness studio chain FitX and the service company SG Service have been part of the Schmidt Group since 2012 .

Sponsorship

The Schmidt Group is active as a sponsor for regional and national handball teams; since 2010 she has been the main sponsor of the German women's national handball team .
