A jewelry box is the name given to industrially produced jewelry packaging in the form of a box . Jewelery boxes are to be distinguished from jewelery boxes , jewelery cases or boxes for storing jewelery .

Jewelry boxes are mainly used for luxury goods such as spirits, sparkling wine / champagne, wines , chocolates and perfumes . They are closed on both sides with tinplate or embossed metal lids and bases. Since the cans are made from different materials that have been joined together, they are part of the combination packaging . The labels , which can be provided with special effects such as hot foil and blind embossing , bronzing or UV varnishing , ensure a classy appearance . Another technical refinement of some jewelry boxes are the thermoformed inner cores that are crimped into the lower body of the box .

The overall market for jewelry boxes in Germany almost doubled between 1990 and 2000. The Association of Metal Packaging (VMV), Düsseldorf, justified this with the positive secondary benefit for the consumer. However, in recent years, there has been a tendency to manufacture in China . Manufacturers of jewelry boxes present new creations at the international trade fair for packaging machines, packaging materials and confectionery machines ( Interpack ).
