In 1997 Schoeller-Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment was listed on NASDAQ Europe and the Vienna Stock Exchange, on which it trades under the name Schoeller-Bleckmann AG.

In 2016, SBO acquired 68 percent of the Texan oil field service company Downhole Technology LLC for 103 million US dollars (90.5 million euros), a leading provider of patented frac plugs for completing oil and gas wells.
