The Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs Aktiengesellschaft is an Austrian real estate companies based in Vienna . Warimpex specializes in the construction and operation of hotels in Central and Eastern Europe. Warimpex also develops office buildings and other real estate. The company's shares are listed on the Prime Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange.

history

The company was founded in 1959 as Warimpex Handels GmbH. The original purpose of the company was to trade between Central and Eastern Europe. The name originated from the original business purpose was en Imp ort and ex port. In 1982 the company was transformed into a joint stock company and started its activities as Immobilienbewirtschafter. Between 1982 and the end of 2018, a total of 44 properties were developed and some were sold again with an investment volume of over one billion euros.

Business activity

At the end of 2018, Warimpex was the owner or leaseholder of six hotels and eight commercial properties. Adjusted for shares, the company managed around 900 hotel rooms and commercial space of around 73,000 m² in various European countries.

Share and shareholders

The company's share capital is divided into 54 million  ordinary shares .

Around half of the shares are held by CEO Franz Jurkowitsch (14%), company founder Georg Folian (15%) and two private foundations (11% each). Around 45% are considered to be free float .
