Scholenfleth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scholenfleth ( also: Scholdenfleth or Scolenvlet ) was the name of an old Holstein noble family . The coat of arms is not known.

history

The Scholenfleths were a knightly noble family and appeared several times in documents from the Schauenburg sovereigns . They were related to the knights of Haseldorf . The name appears for the first time in 1325 and in 1350 a Bertram von Scholenfleth is mentioned for the first time in a document as Vogt of the Hatzburg , in the same year an Albert Scolenvlet appears in a Low German document. A document from 1369 names another member of the family, the squire Albert Scholdenvleth. Until 1387 three other brothers Johann, Marquard and Bertram, called Scotelet, appear in various documents. After 1400 every trace of the noble family in Holstein is lost, after which the name reappears in Prussia, where the family probably died out in the 15th century. Today only one street name in Haseldorf reminds of the former noble family.
