The School Gyrls are an American girl pop band.

Band history

In 2008, musician and television producer Nick Cannon spotted 13-year-old Amanda Moseley (later stage name Mandy Rain) while producing an episode of Star Camp for Nickelodeon . He decided to set up a teen band, which in addition to Moseley also included Monica Parales and Jacque Pyles. In January 2009 the School Gyrls had their first television appearance. Cannon also wrote the script for a television film for Nickelodeon called School Gyrls , which featured Justin Bieber and Soulja Boy alongside the trio . The film aired in the spring of 2010. At the same time, the girl band's debut album was released, which immediately reached number 1 on the Heatseeker charts, but did not make it into the top 100 on the Billboard 200 . With the song Something Like a Party , the School Gyrls had a number five hit on the US dance charts. In their last few months the band had renamed themselves "Forever" because this name would more correspond to their adult appearance. The band broke up at the end of 2012. The singer Mandy Rain started a solo career.
