The Schopf is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest . Its summit is in the area of the municipality of Perasdorf in the Straubing-Bogen district .
According to the maps of the Land Surveyors' Office, the summit is 920 m above sea level, other sources give 925 m . The Schopf can be reached from Grandsberg , Kostenz , Höhenberg or Rautenstock via hiking trails.
Summit cross
The twelve-meter-high wooden summit cross was erected on Ascension Day in 1947 as gratitude for the return from captivity.
