Schreckalm (subject rank)

The Schreckalm is an alpine pasture in the Sachrang district of the municipality of Aschau im Chiemgau .

Two buildings of the Schreckalm are under monument protection and are registered under the number D-1-87-114-134 in the Bavarian monument list.

Building description

The Ertlhütte is a single-storey solid building made of partly plastered quarry stone masonry with a tailcoat roof . The gable, knee-length and towed annex are built in block construction, the building is marked with the year 1716.

The Hatzhütte is a single-storey block building over a quarry stone base with a protruding gable roof and is marked with the year 1802.

The westernmost building is the Simmerl- und Ledererhütte from 1810. It is the largest building on the Alm and the only one that is not listed. The Seppnhütte was located below the present-day huts at the entrance to the Alm and was blown up at the instigation of the Aschauer forester.

The Schreckalm is located east of Sachrang in the Geigelstein area at an altitude of 1400  m above sea level. NN .

To the east of the Schreckalm are the Sulzingalm as well as the Ober- , Mitter- and Niederkaseralm and the Priener Hütte .
