Schrotdorf was a village in what is now the area of ​​the city of Magdeburg .

The village was located on the Schrote a short distance northwest of the city, probably east of today's Magdeburger Ring and south of the Lorenzweg .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1182 . The Schrotdorfer Tor was first mentioned in a document in Magdeburg in 1214 . Until the 17th century it was the most important gateway to the city from the west. A document dated June 14, 1373 shows that Heyne Alemann , temporarily mayor of Magdeburg and member of the Alemann family , owned a farm in Schrotdorf.

Like several villages in the neighborhood, Schrotdorf was abandoned by its inhabitants and turned into a desert in the Middle Ages . The residents are said to have settled mainly in the nearby Neustadt and in Olvenstedt .
