The School for Design St. Gallen SfG with the higher technical school for arts, design and design is a department of the Commercial Vocational and Further Education Center St. Gallen (GBS St. Gallen) and is the most traditional and most important educational institution for basic and advanced training in design of Eastern Switzerland.
Around 1,600 students are taught at the St. Gallen School of Design, founded in 1783. The school has 160 lecturers from Germany and abroad.

The offer is aimed at young people who want to deal more intensively with design topics or who are considering choosing a design training course.
Professional training
The preliminary design course in St. Gallen is not only available for young people as a year of preparation for design professions, but also as a design preparatory course, as a full-time or part-time study.

Tÿpo St. Gallen
The Tÿpo St. Gallen is a typography symposium and takes place every two years in autumn under the aegis of the St. Gallen School of Design. During three days, numerous specialist speakers devote themselves to a specialist topic in the field of typography.

Friday talk
On the first Friday of each month, a specialist from the world of work devotes himself to the students. The aim of this event, at which technical experts, entrepreneurs as well as apprentices and students meet, is the exchange of subject-specific information, the transfer of know-how and practical experience as well as the maintenance and expansion of the personal network.
