Polygraph

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polygraf is a job title in Switzerland that was created in 1995 as a result of technological advances in prepress . The two older professions of typographer (text) and lithographer (image) thus merged into a new, single occupation.

The training includes printing disciplines such as typography and lithography , aspects of computer science such as text processing, but also the promotion of design skills such as color theory , stylistics and photography . Web design as well as the creation of interactive multimedia presentations and film cuts are other focal points .

The apprenticeship period is four years. In most cases, the trainees spend the first year of their apprenticeship exclusively in school and only then are employed in the company. You can choose between the two disciplines print media and screen media, which determine the focus. The choice of subject also depends on the employer, since a polygraph can do an apprenticeship in a printing company as well as in an agency. The school education is the same for both subjects up to the completion of the third year of apprenticeship, only in the last year of apprenticeship is the corresponding subject in the school area specialized.
