School board (title)

Schulrat was an authority or an official title (title) in the German Empire . They supervised the schools .

School board was on the one hand the designation of school authorities , z. B. High school council in the Grand Duchy of Baden and in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine , on the other hand the official title of educational-technical members of such authorities, which were also called high school councils , secret school councils , secret high school councils or provincial school councils . As an honorary title , it was awarded to individual school directors, district school inspectors, seminar directors or other schoolmen.
