The school system in Nörvenich , Nörvenich , Düren district can be documented from 1729. This article shows the time of the Catholic elementary school.

The buildings

In today's house at An der Vikarie 1 or the previous building, the first four years of school were taught simultaneously by a teacher in the only classroom . The school was in use until 1940. Today it is a listed building .

After that, the house at Hirtstr. 28, today a chillout youth home and fire station, as a school building. Opposite is the former Protestant parish hall (now privately owned), which served as a Catholic elementary school with the pavilion classes set up next to it, later the Pinocchio kindergarten . In the 1970s, next to the primary school, the later secondary school was built (inaugurated in 1978), which was sold to an investor in 2016 after years of vacancy and is now to be a senior center. Hermann Dauzenberg, after whom a street in Nörvenich was named, taught for 41 years in the Catholic elementary school, from April 1, 1919 until he retired on September 30, 1950. Gertrud Tönnishoff worked as a teacher in Nörvenich for 47 years, from April 1, 1929 to April 1, 1966 (retirement). A school year used to run from Easter to Easter, i.e. from April 1st to March 30th.

The elementary school Nörvenich was closed in 1969 and converted into a community school.
