The Schwab Versand GmbH in Hanau (Hesse) was a universal mail and is a 100 percent subsidiary of the Otto Group .

history

The company was founded in 1954 by the businessman Friedrich Schwab . In 1976 the Otto Group took over the company. Schwab Versand was converted from an AG into a GmbH in 1996 .

The company's sales territory is primarily Germany. In addition, parts of the range are sold through independent partners in 20 other countries. The range of Schwab Versand GmbH consists of fashion, living, sports and technology. The range is offered both online and via the classic catalog.

In addition to the full-range business , Schwab Versand has been offering large sizes for women with the fashion brand sheego since 2009 . Sheego's online shop was voted the best online shop in the “Fashion Large Sizes” category by customers in July 2018 as part of the Focus Germany test.

The company's business activities also include services in the field of service / logistics, which are offered to companies from the Otto Group, among others. At the Langenselbold location , the entire warehousing of hanging clothing (goods that are delivered on a coat hanger and not in a package) and, since spring 2010, also the storage and order picking for the sheego brand takes place. One of three group return operations for the processing of small-volume items is located in Hanau. As part of the Otto Group's export processing, Schwab supplies major customers in Eastern Europe from its Hanau location.

The Schwab Group has also had its subsidiary WITT since 1987, myToys.de since 2001 and Unito Versand & Dienstleistungen since 2004 .

In June 2020, the discontinuation of business activities for the Schwab Versand brand as of June 30th was announced. In July 2020, Schwab Versand decided to relocate its headquarters to Frankfurt.

Sheego

Sheego has been a Schwab Versand GmbH brand since 2009 and offers women's fashion in sizes 44 to 58. Since July 2016, sheego has been offering an app in addition to an online shop and catalog dispatch . One of the goals of sheego is to permanently change the image of women and to stand up for more acceptance for female diversity and reality; for example through the “No body is the same” campaign. Supporters of the campaign include fashion expert Miyabi Kawai and journalist Paula Lambert .
